Observation notes: Two females fluttering around in our yard between the house and my flower garden. Landing on shamrock.. little yellow flowers on them, and on the dry grass... we are in a drought. I also observed two different Western Checkered Whites mating in our yard yesterday, August 27. Then I drove 3 miles to a swamp area and found another female at the end of the day (August 27) about 5:30 pm feeding on white sweet clover.
