Observation notes: Very large, robust Caterpillar. Bright green, yellow spots on sides and a single black dot on its rear end. A very random sighting as I found it my porch just latched onto a broken leaf from a plant unknown to me; I'm not an expert in any way, shape or form. I thought maybe one of the outdoor cats left me a "gift" but quickly realized it was alive and well! I did a size comparison in the images to my lighter for reference. Surely the largest Caterpillar I've ever seen before. I suspect Luna Moth caterpillar but am hugely reliant on further expert eyes to help me identify it. I released it onto a young maple tree growing near the porch as I haven't a clue what its appetite isor which tree or plant it prefers to linger on.
