Coordinator notes: It is unknown how this got there but there have been others seen in Los Angeles and San Diego Counties in past years, wish it were me seeing that, but I did see over 100 Snouts in Kern County in the Tehachapi Mts. this fall in a relatively small area that had sizable rainfall. Yours may have been an accidental import. The Snouts were the most common butterfly seen October 28th, outnumbering Painted Ladies. They (snouts) were most common there October 17th. Sometimes miracles do happen!!! Or did someone rear them and release them after a trip to Florida. Large Orange Sulphurs have colonized Ventura County following such an introduction.-Ken Davenport
