Coordinator notes: Your suggested ID is correct...the Northern Checkerspot....subspecies flavula in western Colorado. Genetics indicates the eastern populations in the Rocky Mountains is a different species than the more western ones...Chlosyne flavula instead of palla. I don't know how a new name will sort-out...perhaps simply the Flavula Checkerspot. Mike
