Observation notes: Upland immediately surrounding a sedge fen and just a few metres higher. Seldom used gravel logging road running through subalpine forests and clearcuts between the fen and Mount Sandberg. "Butterflies of British Columbia" says P. saepiolus can often be found "in old fields and the sides of old dirt roads, where the species utilizes introduced short, white clovers".
