Observation notes: Male and female Reikirt’s observed pre-mating and mating on grass in patch of sunflowers under an oak tree. Male and female circled around the stem together several times before latching in the final position. First noted one of the two flying erratically and observed it land near the other before mating began. Wind was light at about 15 mph but still enough to make auto-focus difficult. Took video of the circling and latching but focus was poor.
