Observation date: July 16, 2022
Submitted by: sgguthart
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Windy, sunny, temps in the low 80's. This butterfly was seen with lots of other butterflies, mostly Blues and Fritillaries, puddling on the road. It had rained the night before. Even though this butterfly was small, it was noticeably larger than the other Blues nearby.

Coordinator notes: Sally...Boisduval's Blue (aka Lupine Blue)...a fairly worn male...the other in the photo looks like the "Lupine Blue" (aka Buckwheat Blue). Each feed only on these hosts...the later mistakenly named "Lupine Blue" feeds only on Sulphur Flowers, not lupines. Mike
