Observation notes: Fluttering back and forth across gravel trail near open stream dogwoods and spruce. There was also a grassy field nearby. It was quite sunny that day butterfly was black with gold edged wings top wings slightly raggedy. Bottom wings had bluish spots above gold band. Size nearly hands width across
