Observation notes: Butterfly on Caesalpinia pulcherrima. Very breezy afternoon made it difficult to get good photos.

Coordinator notes: This is subspecies rudkini, the Desert Black (-=rudkin's Swallowtail) Swallowtail which closely resembles the Anise Swallowtail, but the black ones (form clarki) resemble the eastern Black Swallowtails but tend to be smaller in size...Ken Davenport (Both rudkini and asterius are the same species).
