Observation notes: Modoc County Road 2 (Pinecreek Canyon Rd.), off Hwy. 395, New Pine Creek, CA. Modoc National Forest, Warner Mountains. A butterfly HOT SPOT in the middle of the gravel road: with many butterfly species “puddling” together on wet area from a creek seep. Warm & sunny morning (10:30 am to 11:15 am). Elevation about 5840 feet.
