Observation notes: This is the tailless Satyrium sylvinus, found in a willow-line channel of Stevens Creek. I haven't seen a tailed S. sylvinus in the area, but I have seen the dryope version in San Mateo County as well on Jasper Ridge.

Coordinator notes: Dryope is normally tailess in the Coast Ranges into that area. We do get tailed and tailless sylvinus in Tehachapi Mountain Park in Kern County-Ken Davenport
