Coordinator notes: Renee, we have several "black" swallowtails that are hard to tell apart without good views of abdomen and back end of the wings. We can't see those areas on your photo, that individual (a male) is a wreck, so I can't be 100% sure. however, for that habitat, Black Swallowtail is the only realistic option, so I'm confirming your ID.
