Observation notes: A Monarch Butterfly with a broken wing was found on our lawn. We carried it to our lavender bush, where he seemed happy to sip the nectar with the bees. I looked up his markings and identified this as a male Monarch Butterfly. It can’t fly and disappeared during several days of rain. But he was back out opening and closing his broken wings in the sun three days later.
