Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America freely available. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Date notes: Found as caterpillar in late September, 2020

Observation notes: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Found in my greenhouse during basil harvest in late September, munching on the leaves. Kept in enclosure and fed for two weeks (very heavy eater, not picky about food choice) before entering the cocoon stage. Cocoon was spun with silk on the underside of a leaf. Emerged about 1 month later. Very active right away, flying without issue. Some trembling when placed outside and freed.
