Polka-Dot Wasp Moth
Syntomeida epilais

Observation date: July 08, 2020
Date notes: Time & Date Exact
Submitted by: Englishman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Flying around my front-door as if looking for a suitable place to land having just been disturbed. I've been trying to get a photograph of this moth at this location for many month, but it always flies up into the foliage of a large tree (that I cannot identify) and lands on the underside of a leaf where it is impossible to see. I have not seen any Oleander Plants (or Devil's Potato or desert Rose plants around here - or any caterpillars) so I don't know where it/they come from. Weather, dull, breezy, dry & mild.
