Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America freely available. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Observation notes: warm and sunny, slight wind. I have a bigger photo of area, along a trail.

Coordinator notes: Your sighting Lisa is a Northern Checkerspot. I'm pretty sure you were not above timberline on this trail (although perhaps it goes that high?) and this checkerspot is common in the Larimer County mountains in late June and early July. The Rockslide checkerspot is similar but you'll catch it only on talus areas at high altitude, sometimes just at the treeline in a favorable place. Mike
