Observation notes: The moths are apparently mating. I found them this morning in my backyard about 8:30 am CDT, and as of 6:40 pm they are still there and both are still alive. They are on a maple seedling that is growing below a black walnut tree. Although they occasionally moved wings, legs, etc., they appeared unperturbed, and I was able to get very close to them. Squirrels were also running around the tree, underneath a bird feeder.
