Coordinator notes: This is an Eastern Black Swallowtail, Papilio polyxenes. The Anise Swallowtail has a striped (not dotted) abdomen and very different markings compared to P. polyxenes. P. zelicaon is also rarely found in urban/suburban areas, at least in Colorado. Anyway, nice job successfully raising this caterpillar, and thanks for submitting your sighting!
