Banded sphinx
Eumorpha fasciatus

Observation date: September 17, 2019
Submitted by: Little Metal Weirdo
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The pink form of the Banded Sphinx Moth's caterpillar. It was hot and humid that evening, the sun was going down, and it was right on the edge of the Arkansas River. I am unsure of the host plant, but there were several aquatic-preferring plants nearby, some Indian Heliotrope, and thick forest canopy overhead of mixed deciduous varieties (a lot of oaks and hackberries.)
