Observation notes: First Monarch seen flying through the butterfly flower beds at the county extension demonstration gardens. First seen on some pink Phlox, then flew over to a light purple Butterfly Bush blossom, then enjoyed some Bluebeard blossoms, and at one point I picked it up and set it on my shirt where it stayed for a couple of seconds then flew off. Size: Approx. 4 -4.5" wingspan. Weather: 91 degrees, 70% humidity, sunny muggy skies.
