Date notes: I observed these caterpillar larvae over a period of 2 weeks during late July and early August 2019.

Observation notes: I found these on my flat-leaf parsley plant located in a small pot on our back patio. I live at approximately 7800' in the Pecos, NM Wilderness area.

Coordinator notes: Your guess is probably correct, though it is an odd-looking version of the Black Swallowtail caterpillar. In your area, Black Swallowtail is probably the only thing that will put eggs on plants in the parsley family. Did you rear it through to adulthood? If so, I'd love to see a photo of the adult. thanks for submitting.
