Observation notes: I was given a tiny monarch caterpillar in a class offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. She was a caterpillar for 17 days, in chrysalis for 13 days, and emerged on July 19th. This picture was taken July 21st, when my daughter and I released her.
