Observation date: June 24, 2019
Date notes: My grandson found three caterpillars, 2 on the grass and one on the side of his house in Victor NY. We found some cottonwood leaves and put them in the butterfly cage, but the next morning all three (same species) were in J formation. We think they are mourning cloak larvae.
