Observation notes: Warm, sunny afternoon. First noticed butterfly fluttering from leaf to leaf in a shaded patch of stinging nettles along a creek. I waited a few moments and the butterfly landed at my feet to bask in a spot of sunshine on a mud step that allows access to the creek. After a short time basking it returned to fluttering through the nettle patch. Due to lighting and angle of view I could not tell if it was ovipositing.
