Coordinator notes: Based on the AM-PM lines, this has to be Xanthophysa psychialis. The PM line is more wavy in this species.In Aethiophysa invisalis, the PM line is simpler, less wavy, more like a smooth curve. The same seems true of the AM line. I looked at a lot of photos on bugguide of both species, and this difference seems fairly consistent (there were a few exceptions, and those might possibly be misidenified), so based on that characteristic, this sighting is Xanthophysa psychialis. I am thinking that lighting is affecting the fringe color, or perhaps there is more variation in the shade of brown or gray than the descriptions let on.
