Coordinator notes: I am going by my experience, which is all Canadian, I live near Ottawa. And I am guessing that the Lake Placid area is likely like the higher parts of eastern Ontario. And in that case it has to be an Eastern TS because the Canadian TS has only one generation per year and would not still be flying in mid-July. Certainly all have disappeared before Milkweeds are in bloom. I could not have identified it just by the photo; with that odd angle I can't see any clear identifying features of either species.
