Observation notes: Moth sitting on stucco window sill. Very inactive. When touched does not move or react. 26 C (80F) when photographed.
I searched in various online sights & was not able to find this moth.
It is the first time I have encountered this variety. Identification would be appreciated.
The moth is about 3 inches across, wing tip to wing tip as shown in the photo. Thanks!
Additional note Dec 16/18. The moth died & I have it saved.
I just did extensive search online & came across this identification, although the photos online show morphs that are much lighter in color.
