Observation date: October 18, 2018

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Saw about 8 Monarchs within a 20-minute period in this huge field of tall grasses, LOTS of white aster, and some cattails at Baker Wetlands, right across from a swampy pond. Noticed that several of them, after having sailed around and fed on the aster, would then fly up into, what looked like (not positive?), an approx. 15' tall sumac tree (Staghorn Sumac?) that was on the edge of the pond. It wasn't a willow tree. Weather: Nice, sunny with a few clouds, approx. 68 degrees. Size of this one: Approx. 3.5-4" wingspan.
