Observation notes: This large moth was found resting on a floor mat in an attached garage. 3 photos were taken (1 with centimeter and inch scale visible, and 1 with flash). After photography, moth was gently but reluctantly coaxed into a large jar. It was very sluggish, and once in the jar, appeared to be attempting to fly but unable to take off. It was gently released onto an outdoor bush. The moth was found near the front end of a vehicle that had returned at twilight about 90 minutes earlier. Unknown if the moth was attracted into the garage by light when the door was open, or possibly brought in on the vehicle.
