Observation date: June 06, 2018
Submitted by: Lisahug
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I can't say with 100% certainty that the upperside and underside are of the same individual, but I am pretty sure that they are. I photographed the underside first, and then it flitted away and i lost it for a few seconds and then it returned and perched on a leaf and I got the upperside. Unfortunately, the underside is blurry, but it is really that dark. It was in sunlight. riparian habitat.

Coordinator notes: When I took your specimen off the spreading board and looked at it in good light, it was clearly satyrus. Some butterflies are hard to ID in a photo, this one was easy-Ken Davenport
