Observation notes: Female on Host, Male on Blade of Grass. Dry oat Grass leaf that male is on gives an Idea how very small this butterfly is/ Breezy Day Dry Mostly sunny, Very little rain this year so far. Most Plants have not Bloomed yet this season, Saw at least 10 Males only 2 Positive Id on females. Were not out a week ago so fairly new hatch. lots of hungry Birds and Lizards, Many Pieces of wings missing in this Population. A few seeps in Stream Bed Also had sara, Elfin, Cloak, Sister, moths too were very common many sizes and colors. Willow catkins just starting to show, Laurel Sumac ready to burst into bloom. Ceanothus Blooms in some areas but hardly any due to dry conditions. Lots of areas closed to high fire danger. Do a Rain Dance!
