Observation notes: Warm (78° F), sunny, calm day. Individual nectaring on false garlic (Nothoscordum bivalve) in the back yard of a suburban neighborhood. There were nearby passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) vines with numerous Agraulis vanillae caterpillars on them and this butterfly seemed interested but no caterpillars were ever noted.
