Observation notes: Common Buckeye observed on the ground in the (very dry) grass. Did not like me getting close to it, so I had to be quick and zoom as much as my camera would allow (thus, somewhat blurry photos). Weather: 85 degrees, 68% humidity, very HOT and muggy day. Size: 2.5" (wingspan) Interesting note: When it's wings (dorsal view) are *partially* closed, it looks like a lamb's face.
