Coordinator notes: This is the Rocky Mountain Parnassius, a member of the Swallowtail family (Papilionidae). I would be interested to know a more exact location where you "saw hundreds." We can compare the area with other similar reports and get a better idea of where all such abundant flights occurred this year. (My email is butterfliesofcolorado@hotmail.com).
