Coordinator notes: Based on photos on the websites below, this is Smerinthus ophthalmica, which until 2010, was apparently considered a form of Smerinthus cerisyi. However, there appears to be discussion about this and whether the two species can be differentiated except by DNA analysis. BAMONA seems to include the species under. S. cerisyi, and so that is where I am placing this sighting at this time. SAT
