Observation notes: Clear Hot mid to high eighties to low nineties clear dry no rain at least two months. female that had been courted by two males. she even tolerated me to be a break from constant pestering of males! or maybe just for salt and moisture? went back to crawling deep into cover of bushes to avoid males. Seemed like males came very close to mating with her several times! Probably eventually did she was very freshly emerged great color and clear markings consistent with Emmel & Emmel plates from book The Butterfly's of southern California.
