Western White
Pontia occidentalis

Observation date: June 30, 2016
Submitted by: Kristie Nelson
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Over past week or so, large numbers of whites seem to be on the move. Dozens to hundreds. Most when I can ID them appear to be Checkered Whites. But I'm seeing some like this - no obvious break in the black sub-marginal band, no obvious color difference between the marginal & sub-marginal like Western usually does, and a big white centered black spot on FW. My hunch is still checkered - but maybe this is Western? I'm curious what's on the move here
