Observation notes: Observed at 10:50 this morning at the base of a maple tree. Specimen was collected and put in a bucket by my daughter later this afternoon observed caterpillar had escaped and started to form cocoon upon the branch she had provided. Small amount of silk noted in this picture as specimen begins to pull the leaves together.
