Cross-lined Waved
Timandra amaturaria

Observation date: August 11, 2015
Submitted by: Jonathan Clark
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Flew from roadside as I drove past slowly while birding. Eventually it landed in a spot that I could get a clear view. One of three or so similar-looking (at a glance) moths seen at this location that morning, but the only one I got a good look at. Habitat: gravel road dividing a weedy meadow from a woods/thicket-bordered slough/pond (Bald Cypress in water, Water Oak prominent nearby) in bottomland habitat. Conditions: light drizzle of rain, warm, cloudy, not much wind.
