Observation notes: this guy was sitting on the under side of my little deck, i noticed him when i was starting to do some planting right there that evening. i took a whole bunch of pictures of him as well as some flowers before i did the planting & did the planting & he was still there when i left. he was quite large, about 1.5 - 2" long (it is cold here, we do not have big bugs)! i have never seen this type of moth before!
