Observation notes: The moth may have very recently emerged from its pupa because it hasn't attempted to fly yet. Its wings stay mostly at its side, however, it will spread them at times. This moth is a very large one with its wings spread and also has a wide and dense-looking head. My husband and I just observe it and have not tried to move it from its location at the base of our shed.
