Observation notes: we saw this and several other butterflies in plum canyon, desert black, sonoran metal mark, loki, sleepy orange, dainty sulphur, dusky wing, tiny checker spot. fairly sure i saw a long tailed skipper headed north your way. clear high 70's moist ground from rain week ago. also Henne's variable checker spot. this female was missing most of a wing, she was in bottom of the canyon once the winds started to blow. was calm most of the day late afternoon strong gusts took my hat a hundred feet and deposited it on a jumping or teddy bear cacti.
