Observation notes: About three in the after noon hazy day, dry high sixties to low seventies light breeze. during the heat of the day i saw probably ten males patrolling area of canyon bottom near food plants. it seemed like they had areas staked out, chasing other males away. later in the day when it started to cool. found males and females on flowers for nectar. as it cooled more they were hard to find. finally i found an area where they were warming on rocks and starting to roost. There were two females along with several males! They were on steep granite sunning prior to roosting for the night.
