Coordinator notes: This insect (whether a butterfly or moth, I'm not sure) definitely didn't come from Ontario. I usually try to ID these non-North American submissions, but I've not been able to figure this one out. I'm placing it in the "Cannot Identify" queue in case someone else knows what it is. JRains.
----I agree, this is a very odd photo, and not an Ontario sighting. The dorsal pattern resembles the ventral pattern of a Walker's Owl Moth, (Erebus walkeri), which is found in southern Africa. - PaulP.
