Observation notes: Butterfly perched low on a signpost in the Conner's Camp Trailhead parking lot. Judging by the healthy, deep green grass around the post I believe the butterfly was attracted to dog pee and was sipping dried minerals. The area surrounding the parking lot is a dry, grassy, weedy meadow surrounded by forest with an understory of native plants.
