Observation notes: My first butterfly of the year! There were quite a few mourning cloaks in the canyon and along the wash today, all patrolling up and down the wash or chasing each other. Once I saw three of them all chasing each other. The last photo is a pretty poor action shot of a dueling pair; they are different individuals than the first two photos.
