Northern Pearly-eye
Enodia anthedon

Observation date: July 06, 2020

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: for a week I have been observing quite active Pearly-eyes within a patch of edge woodland close to a rural suburban yard. On this morning there were about 6 in the vicinity, with two in repeated close contact which I have photographed. Weather was quite warm for the hour, somewhere around 70 degrees or a bit higher. I did not note the tree involved, but I can check back with that. The dominant trees in the immediate area are Black Walnut and Black Locust.
