Coordinator notes: Correct ID....O. chryxus flies only in even years in Colorado. At higher altitude (10,000 ft. to and above timberline) is a sibling species that looks much like chryxus. This is Oeneis calais (they don't have it listed on the BAMONA site). It flies in both even and odd years. Both species overlap in even years at around the 10000 ft. level. The underside is darker on calais than on the one in your photo. Mike
