Description of Heliozelidae
The Heliozelidae are very small moths of the superfamily Incurvarioidea. Known as the Shield Bearer Moths, the Heliozelidae are a small group represented by three genera in North America, Antispila, Heliozela, and Coptodisca. They are small, metallic, day-flying moths with shiny smooth heads. The larvae are leaf miners of woody plants and their vacated leaf mines are distinctive because the larvae leaves a single large hole at the end.
