Grayish Zanclognatha Moth
Zanclognatha pedipilalis (Guenée, 1854)
Family: Erebidae
Subfamily: Herminiinae
Identification: Forewing and hindwing light gray to grayish tan. The second brood is dark brownish gray. Lines brown. Am. line bends at right angle below costa. Note narrow bulge in pm. line (almost a rounded point). St. line straight, incomplete (not reaching apex); no yellow edging.
Wing Span: 2.4-3 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Dead leaves, including those of soybean.

Range: Nova Scotia and Quebec to Florida, west to Kansas and Mississippi.
